Sometimes, I find myself wondering why it is so difficult to be transparent...
We usually believe that Being Transparent is simply being sincere, not deceiving others.
But "Being Transparent" is much more than that...
It is having the courage to expose yourself, to be fragile, to cry, to talk about what we feel...
Being transparent is to bare the soul, it is to let the "masks" fall, to lower the weapons, to destroy the immense and thick walls that we insist so much on endeavoring to raise...
Being transparent is to allow all our sweetness to flourish, to bloom, to overflow...
But, unfortunately, almost always, most of us decide not to take that risk. We prefer the hardness of reason to the lightness that would expose all human fragility...
We prefer the "lump in the throat" to the tears that spring from the deepest part of our being...
We prefer to lose ourselves in an insane search for immediate answers rather than simply surrender before God and admit that we don't know, that we are afraid !!!
As painful as it may be to have to build a "mask" that distances us further and further from who we really are and even from our God... We prefer it this way: To maintain an image that gives us the feeling of protection...
And so, we go on drowning more and more in false words, in false attitudes, in false feelings ...
Not because we are lying people! ...
But because, like dry leaves, we lose ourselves and no longer know where our gentleness is, our most intense and uncontaminated love...
As the years go by, a cold and dark emptiness makes us realize that we no longer know how to give or ask for what we have most precious to share with our brothers... Sweetness, compassion... Understanding... That we all suffer and sometimes feel alone, immensely sad and cry softly before sleeping ...
In a silence that reminds us of the longing for "ourselves"... That which pulses and cries out within us, but which we do not have the courage to show to those we love most!
Because, unfortunately, we have learned that it is better to fight back, to vent, to attack, to accuse, to criticize and judge than to simply say: "You are hurting me... Can you stop, please?"
Because we have learned that saying this is being weak, is being foolish, is being less than the other...
When, in fact, if we acted by letting our reason also listen to our heart, we could avoid so much pain... So much pain! ...
"We should not be afraid of confrontations... But I suggest that we let all our sweetness explode!"
May we manage not to hold back tears, not to suppress laughter, not to hide so much our fear, not to want to seem so invincible... May we manage to try not to control so much, respond so much, compete so much... But trust in the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is enough for us...
"Love, simply love!"
Intelligence without love makes us perverted.
Justice without love makes us relentless...
Diplomacy without love makes us hypocrites.
Success without love makes us arrogant...
Wealth without love makes us miserly
Poverty without love makes us proud...
Beauty without love makes us futile.
Authority without love makes us tyrants.
"Love, simply love!"
Work without love makes us slaves.
Simplicity without love diminishes us.
Law without love oppresses us.
Politics without love makes us selfish.
Faith without love makes us fanatic.
The cross without love becomes torture.
And when, sometimes, we DO NOT find the right words to express what we feel; whether because of shyness or because feelings overwhelm us; in those cases we can count on the language of hugs ...
Life without love has no meaning whatsoever!
"Remembering that: Life is so short and the task of living it is so difficult that when we begin to learn it, it is already time to leave..."
Let us continue in the certainty that...
EVERYTHING PASSES!!! ...
May we gently manage to live... Feel... Love... Be Transparent! ...
Certain that this moment you live, whether it is of great joy or pain
Will pass! And you must move forward, without looking back, towards eternity, always transparent, because everything passes...
"... in the favor of the Lord is life; weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning" - Psalms 30:5.
Furthermore, brothers, rejoice, be perfect, be comforted, be "of one mind", live in peace; and the God of love and of peace will be with you"
(Holy Bible - 2 Corinthians 13:11)
