Many times we pass by these verses without stopping to think about the richness that is present there and how this directly affects our lives.
It is a fact that in today's times people are more self-centered and full of vanity and pride than people of the past or decades gone by. Not that in those past days such people did not exist, but the number was much smaller.
All of this, in part, occurs due to the increase in technology and the conveniences we have in today's times. Information and knowledge are just a click away and accessible to all of us because of the web that unified various parts of the world; it united thoughts, united ideas, thus creating communities and groups that have their own interests and objectives.
With all this technological advancement and easy access to information, people became more autonomous and independent. This caused people to become more confident in their choices and confident in themselves.
All this freedom of expression reflects directly on our ego, on our pride. We feel that we are capable of doing anything. We are invincible and we have the power to create our own path; we have the power to have the life we desire and there is no one who can convince us otherwise.
We feel that we are capable of doing anything. We are invincible and we have the power to create our own path; we have the power to have the life we desire and there is no one who can convince us otherwise.
The problem is that we believe this freedom of expression and thought comes from ourselves; we are responsible for our choices; we are responsible for our paths, but, in this regard, we often have to disagree a little.

Anyone who has an interest in researching and analyzing things more deeply will realize that all this freedom of expression that we judge we have originates from mass media.
The media has been manipulating the minds of many people and implanting in them the idea that they are free when in reality they are influenced by the media in every way: in music, in the arts, in cinema, in clothes, in brand influencers, in politicians, in activists and in so many other things that it keeps throwing in our faces and always feeding us the idea that everything we choose and think comes from ourselves.
All of this results in empty people with mental fatigue, people who feed themselves all day long from the outside world and do not even stop to think if that is actually true or false, if they really need it or not, or if it really is what they want or are simply doing everything out of influence from others.
They forget that they have an inner world, a world inaccessible by human vanity, a world in which we need to be free from all the shackles of life to be able to see, a world in which we have the power to see beyond the stars and beyond our sinful and human eyes.

Remembering that everything being addressed in this article does not reflect in all people and not in all existing cases, it is just a general analysis of the situation.
And what does all this have to do with us, Christians? Everything.

The Christian's journey is different from the journey of people of the world. We have different weapons to fight and greater enemies to defeat. Enemies such as: power, status, greed, pride, vanity, etc. All these enemies are considered allies for people outside but need to be seen with other eyes by us, as it directly affects our Spiritual Journey and can lead us astray from the Path of Salvation and blind our eyes.
We are obligated to empty ourselves of the world and of all things that exist in it, things that were created by human hands. We need to take time for ourselves and remember the commandments of the Lord; to remember everything He went through, everything He endured so that today we could live life with true freedom, the freedom that lasts eternally.

The freedom of the world passes in the blink of an eye
The freedom of the world passes in the blink of an eye, and when we stop to reflect we realize that we spent our whole lives chasing illusions, chasing fleeting things that only served to make our last days sadder, bitter, and worst of all, alone and lonely, without having that inner peace and the assurance of having lived a full life and that now we can depart in safety knowing that something better, much better, awaits us beyond the Stars.
We cannot deceive ourselves. We cannot let the world take from us the only thing that can really save us and open our eyes: Free Will, which allows us to make the right or wrong choices in life, choices for which we will all suffer the consequences being good or bad people.
Let us look a little within ourselves, reflect a little and begin to see things with the eyes of faith, with the eyes that allow us to see beyond this futile and painful life.
Unlike the world, we have the hope of better days; we have the hope that one day we will feel what we have never felt before; we will feel all the Glory of God, a glory so great that our earthly body cannot bear and will never taste.
God has great plans for our lives, we need to believe and learn to wait in Him. All our life is visible to God's eyes. We may not understand our path today, but if we continue to believe and trust in tomorrow we will rejoice in the presence of the Lord and we will see that it was all worth it.
Unlike the world, we have the hope of better days; we have the hope that one day we will feel what we have never felt before; we will feel all the Glory of God, a glory so great that our earthly body cannot bear and will never taste.
Let us continue in the fight as our brothers of the past did. They knew what to believe in and were not influenced by the world. They knew God closely and did not let pride and vanity take from them the certainty of Salvation.
Let us use the weapons we have in our hands and advance, knowing that everything we need to overcome in life is before the Lord and only He can hold us in His hands so that we can pass through the bad days. Let us set aside all vanity, all pride and all the power we think we have outside the presence of the Lord.
May Jesus greatly bless the lives of the brothers.
May the grace and peace of God be in every heart.
