In a wide river, difficult to cross, there was a boatman who ferried people from one side to the other. On one of the trips, there was a lawyer and a teacher. As someone who likes to talk a lot, the lawyer asks the boatman: - My dear boatman, do you understand the law? - No, sir - replies the boatman.
And the lawyer, feeling sorry: - What a pity... You have lost half your life! The boatman says nothing. The teacher, very sociable, enters the conversation: - Your boatman, do you know how to read and write? - I don't know that either, ma'am - replies the rower. - What a pity... - sympathizes the teacher. You have lost half your life! Then, a very strong wave comes and capsizes the boat. The canoeist, worried, asks: - Do you know how to swim? - No! - they quickly replied. - Then, it's a pity... - concludes the boatman. You have lost a whole life!
MORAL OF THE STORY:
"There is no knowing more or knowing less: there are different kinds of knowledge." (Paulo Freire).
All work is dignified and should be respected. Think about it. Value all people.
