I have already mentioned in another article the fact that, in youth, we decide certain matters that will affect us throughout our lives, and to make them a reality we have to plan and give them due priority and when we follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit, He helps us.
A priority is something that takes the place of other things in our life. Our priority can be anything that occupies the first place in our thoughts or in our agenda (how we plan our time). Even without planning we have priorities. For this reason, it is very important that we establish the correct priorities.
I believe that one of the reasons young people lose peace, unable to achieve what they desire, is by losing the focus of their priorities.
The Bible says that we are made to have a worthy and correct life, with purpose, and not as fools or senseless, but as the wise (sensitive and intelligent people), making the best of your time (redeeming the time), because the days are evil.
We can invest our time and our attention in many choices. Without clear priorities we can become paralyzed in indecision. Some decisions are easier to make, because, being bad things we already know that we have to avoid them.
In any case, sometimes we will have to choose between two good things, and in these cases we have to learn to be in prayer to make the best decision. We have to be careful not to be influenced to simply do what everyone is doing. We have to do what God has particularly directed us to do.
We need to be honest with ourselves about what is really a priority. We have to put God first in all areas and if He is not in first place, we have to make some changes.
Our God promises that when we put the Lord first by seeking Him to do everything the way He wants, we will have great success.
Seek the Lord so that He shows you what your priorities should be. Ask Him to help you organize your needs – and then all the things that are important to Him will be the most important to you!
