GOD ACTS IN SIMPLE THINGS
I CORINTHIANS 1:26 to 31.
(26) Because, behold brothers, your calling, for not many of you are wise according to the flesh, not many are powerful, not many are noble who are called.
(27) But God chose the foolish things of this world to confound the wise; and God chose the weak things of this world to confound the strong.
(28) And God chose the vile things of this world, and the despised things, and the things that are not, to annihilate the things that are;
(29) So that no flesh should glory before him.
(30) But you are his in Jesus Christ, who for us was made by God wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification;
(31) So that, as it is written: he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.
THE STAFF (a wooden rod with a hook at the end)
Rustic, simple and even common…
For Moses it was a simple piece of wood that served him as support and to train the sheep in his pastoral care
But God asks Moses what he has in his hands, he answers that it is a rod.
God orders him to throw it on the ground, immediately it transforms into a snake.
God, once more, orders him to grab it by the tail; how to grab a snake by the tail, because by human logic no sane person would do such a foolish thing, usually one grabs a snake by the head. But in an act of courage he grabs the snake as God commanded, immediately, it becomes his shepherd's staff again. From that day forward, Moses was another man. With that simple staff, he defeated the serpents of Pharaoh's magicians, opened the Red Sea, made water spring from the rock. You already know the rest of the story. What does old Moses have to do with us? Everything. Usually, we make a series of excuses to explain our complacency, always lacking this or that to achieve the desired success. Usually, the guilty one is the other, never us.
It is time to see what we have in our hands, to review our concepts no matter the age, profession, race, level of education or financial situation.
Like Moses, what do we have in our hands?
Do not expect God to give you money tomorrow a golden scepter and science in the foreground as he did with Moses, because the experience with Moses did not work out he wanted to do justice with his own hands.
But when God intervened his luxurious shoes were transformed into sandals, his marble floor transformed into hot desert sands and rocks, his cedar and ivory roof transformed into dark and starry sky, night and scorching sun by day, his perfumed pool transformed into rocky rivers and lakes that served as watering holes for animals and his golden scepter to rule his subjects was transformed into a wooden staff to shepherd sheep.
Because perhaps you do not have the same attitude and virtue that Moses had, Alleluia.
therefore gird your loins, put sandals on your feet and take the staff in your hands (Exodus 12:11),(Ephesians 6:14)
This symbol is so strong, so important, that God, in Heaven, also has a staff, which is Christ Jesus.
I could present you with several symbols that the staff represents but I will stick to just two: Support (prop) for the work journey and authority against adversaries.
As for kings, since ancient times and, even today, in official ceremonies, they use the scepter (staff), as a sign of authority. And it all began in the field, in work, that is, in the execution of labor, in the exercise of some type of authority.
But, why does God have a staff?
Because He compares Himself to a shepherd, in fact, He is the Good Shepherd… and who is the good shepherd if not Jesus Christ?...

May God bless you
