How to Overcome the Psychology of Quitting
Perhaps you, but probably someone you know seems unable to get ahead in life.
Enormous potential, but no matter what the person does things simply seem not to work out...
Projects don't gain traction...
Relationships don't last...
This happens because the person is trapped within one of the 4 States of the Psychology of Quitting:
Indecisive, Tired, Complacent, or Vain.
Perhaps reading this email, you must be thinking "Roberto, I am living in one of the types of the Psychology of Quitting! What do I do?".
1) If you identified with the indecisive, the solution is: COURAGE.
There is no perfect solution to end indecision, so there are things that will work out, and there are things that won't.
It is very important that you look back and see how much you have built, how good life has been to you.
Michael Jordan says the following: "I missed thousands of baskets. I lost hundreds of games. I failed in many championship finals. And it is because I had the courage to fail so much, that I am the greatest basketball player in history".
Have the courage to fail... Don't let fear paralyze you.
2) If you identified with the tired, the solution is: PASSION FOR LIFE.
So, get away from the television, get away from the computer and go to your passion, go to your desire, go to the world!
An example: My son Ricardo does Iron Man.
He swims almost 4 km, then he does 180 km of biking, then runs a marathon. So, he trains 2 hours in the morning swimming, then at night running, then biking...
At first I looked at him and said "Son, you're killing yourself so much" and he told me "Dad, I do this out of passion, I love doing what I'm doing!"
So, if you are in the state of being tired, develop a passion for doing what you're doing.
3) If you identified with the complacent, the solution is: LOVE.
The complacent person is someone who blocks love.
Whether it's love for your children, your wife, your clients, or the people on your team.
To live success it is very important that you feel love for the people on your team, who work with you, the people who surround you in your life, your children, wife, and family.
When you increase your capacity to love, your life changes and your career blossoms.
4) If you identified with the vain, the solution is: STRATEGIC HUMILITY.
People ask me "Roberto, how do you have the humility to seek young people from the digital world to learn from them?"
The logic for me is simple... I always think if I want more from life, I need better results. And to have better results, I need to listen to those who know.
This I call strategic humility.
So, who will be my mentor? Who will guide you? Who will you learn from?
Because if you have a clear dimension of your future and don't abandon your dream, you will realize that you have to study more.
And you go to: THE SKY IS THE LIMIT.
Look at your goal, look at your objective... And move forward!
The universe (and I) is dying to applaud your success, and applaud it more and more...
You deserve to realize all the dreams you have!
A warm hug,
Roberto Shinyashiki.
