What is it truly to be a Christian? It is a question that sometimes has no answers; because being Christian is not seen only in words, but also in works. For the Word of the Lord Jesus says that: "You will be known by the works you do here".
It is not enough to be Christian in lip, the Lord Jesus requires much more from us. When we put the things of God first, denying our SELF, giving up dreams and desires that we have, to do only the will of God, we are one step away from being true Christians.
For being Christian is not just about blessing, because we know that here, each day, we face a different struggle, we are tested like gold, led like silent sheep to the slaughter for the love of God, for love of His Word.
A Christian is tested by his faith, but we know that God does not give a trial greater than we can bear; so when we are being tested we must already declare victory, because we have the ability to overcome the trial.
To be a true Christian we must have great love for the Word of God, recognize that it is necessary to obey everything that God left for us to do, seeing everything that is impossible to our eyes, through the eyes of faith everything is possible to those who believe in the Lord Jesus.
Brothers, we know that we have several examples of how to follow the word of GOD and walk in His ways, there is no excuse that justifies our negligence and lack of commitment, for we have a God who at every dawn gives us a new opportunity to be a true Christian.
There is a hymn that in a small stanza says like this: "When I think to do good I have already done evil, when I think to do good I have already practiced evil"; and he still leaves a question for the Lord saying: "Let me Lord serve You like this!?"
We know that we sin, for we are still sinners, for we struggle against the flesh, but we only practice evil when evil is in our hearts. The Lord will not allow being Christian halfway, for He wants body, soul and spirit; for if I serve my God today and practice evil tomorrow my pursuit has been in vain, for we know that our spiritual life requires much care, especially for those who seek intimacy with God.
We must seek without ceasing to have more constant encounters with God, and it does not take much for this, just have a sincere and pure heart in His presence. If we have evil within us, the spirit of God will not dwell in our hearts. God does not dwell in impure or divided hearts.
We must show our love for the Lord not only by lip, but also by Works. We must constantly seek God's grace and forgiveness. When you repent with all your heart, you obtain God's forgiveness.
Seek each day to be more an authentic Christian, who serves God with all heart, body, soul and spirit. Seek to have a better intimacy with God, fear of the Word of God, for he who fears does not seek to do what is wrong, but seeks sanctification more and more each day.
Be a true Christian and thus you will receive the grace of the Lord all the days of your life, and He will direct your paths making you a vessel in His hands.
We take as an example our brother Paul, who did not let himself be carried away by the weaknesses of the flesh, and did not make excuses for not serving the Lord, but followed the path even being beaten because of the Name of Jesus pressing toward the goal, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and obtained the best from God.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. From now on, the crown of righteousness is reserved for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His coming." 2 Timothy 4:7,8
