Luke 03:21 and 22 - And it came to pass, that, as all the people were baptized, Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape, as a dove upon him; and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
NOTE:- Corporeal - Of the body, that has a body, matter, material.
Well pleased - To please.
For the followers of the doctrine of "Athanasius" - called: "most holy trinity", they say that in this text it clearly shows the three persons taught by trinitarians.
Is this the truth? Let us observe the events:
Jesus being baptized by John the Baptist - It is evident that He is a person. The voice heard from heaven - Who was it that spoke?
The Holy Spirit in bodily form as a dove - One of the three persons preached by trinitarians has the form of a dove?
Is the Holy Spirit a Dove?
John 20:22 - And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Acts 02:01 to 04 - ... And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting...
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost...
Did Jesus breathe out any dove? On the day of Pentecost were they filled with a dove? Of course not. The Holy Spirit is not a dove, The Holy Spirit is God Himself, for the word of God confirms this to us in Ephesians 04:04 ... There is one Spirit, in John 04:24 - God is Spirit... And Psalm 99:09 - The Lord our God is Holy. And only God can be in all - Ephesians 04:06 - One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Matthew 01:18 to 21 - ... That which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. We know that Father is the one who begets, it is clear that the Holy Spirit is the Father. Being He the Father He cannot be the third person, being the Son the second, as the trinitarians want to affirm; and if the third person is Father of the second, then what would the first person be? Grandson of the third and Son of the second?
And if there is one God, how can there be God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit? The Bible says there is one God, the trinitarians say there are three, I prefer to stay with the Bible which is the word of God.
So why did the Spirit appear in bodily form as of a dove?
John 1:32 and 33 - ... I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
Observe that a sign had to be shown to John, and that the Spirit is invisible, and for John to see it would have to become visible. We believe that what was prophesied by the prophets must be fulfilled. See what the prophet Isaiah prophesied 11:1 and 2 - "And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord" - Who is this that shall come forth out of the stem of Jesse? It is clear that it is Jesus, for He as man comes from the lineage of David, who is the son of Jesse. "Note well that the prophecy says that the Spirit of the Lord would rest upon Him and not another distinct person." We see further in II Corinthians 5:19 - That God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself...
Analyze well that God Himself (there is one God) dwelt in that body (Christ). It is clear that there was God humanized to save us from eternal condemnation. Hallelujah!
Why then the form as of a dove?
Rod is a shoot, sprout of vegetables - product.
Now let us analyze:
Genesis 8:11 - "And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth."
The ark was the salvation of humanity before the flood, so much so that only those who entered the ark with Noah were saved. Genesis 7:22 and 23.
After the flood the ark was no longer salvation, but a prison, so much so that Noah was anxious to leave the ark, he sent out a raven which went forth and returned until the waters were dried up from off the earth, then he began to send out the dove. Genesis 8:7 following.
God gave the law to the people of Israel, just as He commanded Noah to build the ark. But the law also became a prison later, and it was necessary that liberation now arise, that is, the grace of God, for by grace ye are saved.
Observe now that the dove came bringing in its mouth a branch of Olive, compare what the prophet Isaiah said about Jesus:- "And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse"... Just as Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth, John the Baptist knew that the time of the law was ending, which is why he said: "He must increase, but I must decrease". The law and the prophets were until John. Luke 16:16. We also see that the dove: has a mournful voice - (Isaiah 38:14, 59:11 - Nahum 2:7 and Romans 8:26 says that the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered), and doves were sold in the temple - Matthew 21:12 and Jesus was sold for 30 pieces of silver. They were brought to be offered in burnt offering and atonement for sin, when a person did not have the means to offer small livestock for atonement for the guilt he committed. Leviticus 5:7. Jesus Christ was crucified for the atonement of our guilt, and we did not have the means to offer anything. It is loving and has a sweet voice - Song of Solomon 1:15 and 2:14 - Jesus said: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends". John 15:13.
But what about the voice? Observe that the voice was heard from heaven, and Jesus when He was on earth talking with Nicodemus He said: John 3:13 - And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. Isaiah 66:01 - God fills heaven and earth. And the voice is also the fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy which says in chapter 42:01 - Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him.
He shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. We see then that there are not three persons and much less the so-called trinity, but Jesus Christ is the true God and eternal life. I John 5:20 and II Thessalonians 2:16 - And our Lord Jesus Christ himself, our God and Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. Praised be God! Amen!
