The search for the meaning of life has accompanied humanity since the earliest times. We feel an emptiness in our soul, a spiritual thirst that cannot be satisfied by material goods, status or personal achievements. But what is the answer to this deep need? The Bible points us to a clear path: Jesus Christ is the only one who can fill this void and bring true salvation.
The Spiritual Thirst and the Emptiness of the Soul
We live in a world where there is constant investment in the pursuit of pleasure and personal fulfillment. Travels, material goods, social recognition and even alternative spiritual practices are frequently used as attempts to meet this internal lack. However, God's Word questions us: "Why do you spend money on what is not bread?" (Isaiah 55:2). This question invites us to reflect: are we really investing in what can nourish our soul?
Many people seek to quench their spiritual thirst from wrong sources. They seek answers in materialism, in fleeting philosophies and in false promises of spirituality. However, only Christ can offer the true water of life: "Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst again." (John 4:14).
The Power of Salvation in Christ
The Bible teaches us that salvation is not achieved through good works, status or religion. How many people believe they can guarantee a place in heaven simply by being good or helping others? However, Scripture is clear: "For by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; not from works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9).
This means that no matter how many good deeds we do, they do not have the power to save us. Salvation comes exclusively through faith in Jesus Christ. He is the only one who conquered death, rose again and ascended to heaven, leaving us the promise that he will return.
The Ascension of Jesus and the Promise of His Return
After his resurrection, Jesus met with his disciples and with a multitude of people before ascending to heaven. The Bible recounts this moment in an impressive way:
"Galilean men, why are you looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." (Acts 1:11).
This promise brings us hope and, at the same time, calls us to responsibility. If Jesus will return, we need to be prepared! We need to live according to his teachings and seek daily a relationship with God.
True Preparation for the Return of Christ
Many people live as if they had all the time in the world to make spiritual decisions. But the Bible warns us: "Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near." (Isaiah 55:6). This means that the time to seek God is now, while we have life and opportunity.
Preparation for Jesus' return is not found in empty rituals, but in a sincere relationship with Him. This involves:
- Genuine repentance from sins;
- Full trust in God's grace;
- A life of prayer and communion with Him;
- Reading and practice of God's Word;
- Love for our neighbor and true Christian witness.
Those who live in communion with God need not fear the return of Christ. On the contrary, they await this day with joy, knowing that true life is not in this passing world, but in eternity by the Lord's side.
The Decision Is in Your Hands
In light of all this, the great question arises: Are you prepared for Jesus' return?
Is your soul filled with God's peace or are you still seeking satisfaction in passing things?
There is no alternative path to salvation. Only Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). He is waiting for you with open arms. Do not delay your decision! Seek the Lord, give your life to Him and experience true peace and salvation.
