When we read this passage from the holy scriptures (Atos 3:6), which says: And Peter said: I have no silver or gold; but what I have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene, rise up and walk, we see the power of God being manifest in the life of a man, a man who never had the chance or opportunity to move about, to walk, to perhaps do his own will, for from the womb of his mother he was lame, and from a young age he was placed at the entrance of the temple, more precisely at the gate called Beautiful to beg for alms, and it is quite true that he always managed to bring some change to his house, and the next day he was taken again to the gate called Beautiful.
How long this man stayed there, approximately forty years, how many times did the Lord Jesus also pass by the gate called Beautiful, and there was this lame man, but I want to tell you that for everything there is an appointed time.
Once Peter and João were passing in front of the temple, and when they reached the gate called Beautiful, they saw that man asking for alms and they stopped and fixed their eyes on him, and the lame man expecting to receive some change had no idea he would receive something more precious than silver and than gold, then Peter takes his hand and says: look at us, we have neither silver nor gold, but what we have we give to you, in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene rise and walk, and what seemed impossible, what seemed to have no way out, what seemed to be his death, for he perhaps in his mind would have certainly expected to die that way, lame, but Jesus changed that man's fortune, and he came to be a miracle and was there jumping and leaping and everyone saw him who was no longer lame but a perfect man and enjoying full health.
But let us set aside the former lame man at the Beautiful gate and let us talk a little about you. And I would like to open a wide range and ask you: “How is your life with God”, perhaps you are enjoying full health or with a little problem here and another there, but nothing that prevents you from walking, from moving, from getting around from one side to another, from going up and down stairs, from playing ball with friends, or even say “I am well with God!” perhaps you look in the mirror and say how beautiful I am, I am perfect, all is well! Sometimes a little fat appears here and there but I am in fashion, am I not.
But when I ask this question: How is your life with God? , I am referring to your spiritual life!, Is it well? Are you sure.
Looking from the spiritual side, are your hands doing the will of God, are you using your hands to pick up the bible to read, are your hands going into your pocket to be able to tithe to the Lord (Malaquias 3:8) in short, are your hands doing what is right in the eyes of the Lord Jesus. Are your perfect legs following the right path or are you deviating to the left or to the right thus leaving the presence of God and placing your feet on foreign soil.
Are your perfect eyes not like eagle's eyes anymore, are they looking at worldly things (II Samuel 12:9), or have your eyes never turned to the creator of the heavens and the earth (Isaías 45:22). Your perfect mind, does it dream God's dreams, have you been thinking about things that are above or have you only been thinking about things that are below (Colossenses 3:2)
Could your mind be the mind of Christ (I Corintios 2:16).
Who is living in you? Is it Jesus Christ the Lion of the Tribe of Judá or is it another who roars like a lion seeking whom he may devour (Gálatas 2:20), Perhaps you are not like the lame man at the Beautiful gate, you may be even worse, for the worst lame man is the one who seeks his own interests and has his arms and legs and minds cauterized, and has them as his own strength, you my friend and my friend you can be perfect in everything or almost perfect but I want to tell you that you without Jesus Christ are nothing and nobody. If you scratched your head my friend or my friend, it is time to start rising up and standing on your feet (Josué 1:7-8-9), do you know why?. Because “In no other is there salvation, for there is also under heaven no other name given among men by which we must be saved (Atos 4:12).”
As a Minister of the gospel of Christ, I make Peter's words my own words; we have no silver and no gold but what we have we give to you, in the Name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, rise and walk!!!.
