THE LORD'S SUPPER
The Lord's supper that every Church participates in has as components: "BREAD AND WINE". It is by the Lord's ordinance, with unleavened bread (without leaven); never with leavened bread (from the bakery), because such fermented bread was never used by the Jews in the celebration of Passover. (Exodus 23:18 - Lv. 23.6-11 - II Chr. 35.17). You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread... (fermented).
Mal. 1.6-7: “A son honors his father, and a servant his master; and if I am Father, where is my honor? And if I am Lord, where is my fear? Says the Lord of Hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name and have said: In what do we despise your name? You offer on my altar unclean bread, and say: In what have we profaned you? In this that you say: The Lord's table is despicable”.
I Cor. 5.6-8: “Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore cleanse yourselves of the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, thus you are without leaven. Because Christ, "Our Passover", was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of malice and wickedness, but with unleavened bread of sincerity and truth”
Jesus commanded his disciples to prepare the bread of the supper, he did not command them to buy it. Bakery bread is useful for our nourishment, but to compare it with the body of Christ, it is unclean, prepared by unclean hands (smoky, etc.), of ungodly people, and still fermented! (II Chr. 35.17; Ezra 6.22; Mt. 26.17; Lk. 22.1-8).
The more obedience, the more blessings we will receive. God gives grace to the humble, but resists the proud.
FEET WASHING
The basic text is found in Jo. 13.1-17.
Practiced by the Lord Jesus Christ and commanded by him. “Now if I, Lord and Master, have washed your feet, you ought also to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, so that, as I have done to you, you also should do”.
In the Lord's supper there is a condemnation for those who eat and drink unworthily, but there is a blessing in feet washing for those who practice it.
Many reject this commandment, others criticize it. Peter also refused, but the Lord said to him: “If I do not wash you, you have no part with me”.
When Peter saw that it was to have part with Him, he added: “...Not only my feet, but also my hands, my head...”.
A real proof that the apostles continued with the practice of feet washing is found in I Tim. 5.10 “... If she washed the feet of the saints, ...”. How would the widow do a strange practice for her? It happened that the church continued in obedience to the commandment, she (the widow) was in perfect communion with the saints, because she only washes feet after participating in the Lord's supper.
This is a very clear commandment and, if one is to have part, what will be the part of the one who does not practice it? It is a commandment obeyed in THE TIMES OF RESTORATION.
