When the subject is the "tongue", we are immediately reminded of what James, servant of God, writes saying: "With it we bless God our Father, and with it we curse men, made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessings and curses. My brothers, this ought not to be" (Tiago 3:9-10).
What we should analyze in this word is that with our lips we bless God, that is, we worship His Holy Name, we sing hymns of praise and honor to Him, etc... But on the other hand, with it we curse men, who were created by God in His likeness, as it says in Genesis 1:27 "And God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them". If God's Word assures us that we "Men" are the image and likeness of Him, how can we, with our lips, bless Him, and curse what He created? It is correct to say that, if we speak evil of men, we also speak evil of their Creator who is Our Lord Jesus Christ, who created all things.
In the Bible we find several texts related to this type of subject: Proverbs 12:22, Psalms 34:12:13, Tiago 3, etc... But one of these and others calls our attention when it says "But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned" (Mateus 12:36-37).
We must watch what comes out of our mouths, because all of this will lead us to the final judgment. If curses come from your lips your life and your destiny will be the same, but if with it you bless the Name of the Lord Jesus and all that He created, your life will provide blessings and in the judgment you will be justified by God, and so may it be forever amen.
It is up to each of us to review our concepts and remember who we were called by (By the Creator of heaven and earth, of men, and all living beings in it) and make an evaluation of what has come out of our lips, because, from 0 to 10 what grade would we give ourselves for what has come out of our lips that pleases God? Have our lives provided blessing or curse? So we can praise the Psalms 35:28 "My tongue will speak of your righteousness and of your praise all day long".
May Peace be with you, Amen.
