Damico owned a successful pharmacy in a small town.
He was a very intelligent man, but did not believe in the existence of God or anything else beyond his material world.
One day, as he was closing the pharmacy, a crying child arrived saying that his mother was feeling ill and that if she did not take the medicine soon she would die.
Very nervous and after the child's insistence, he decided to reopen the pharmacy to get the medicine.
His insensitivity in the face of that moment was such that he ended up getting the medicine in the dark, handed it to the child, who thanked him and left in haste.
Minutes later, he realized that he had given the wrong medicine to the child and, if that mother took it, it would be instant death.
Desperate, he tried to reach the child, but was unsuccessful.
He cried out in despair...
And time passed and nothing happened.
Without knowing what to do and with a heavy conscience, he knelt down and began to cry and say that if God really existed, He would not let him be guilty of murder.
Time passed and he, on his knees, was thinking that the woman might already be dead and surely he would have to pay for it.
He reflected on his intemperance, on his bad mood, mainly on his foolishness. Suddenly, he felt a hand touch his left shoulder and when he turned around he came face to face with the child in tears.
At that moment he was disconsolate, but he had one certainty, God indeed did not exist.
He could already imagine what was about to happen to him, the crying and sad look of that child pierced his soul.
However, like a flash of wisdom, he asked the boy what had happened to him.
Then that child began to say:
- "Sir, please, do not scold me, but I fell and broke the medicine bottle, can you give me another one?"
God exists and knows you by your name.
He always has the best for you, no matter how much the circumstances show otherwise.
Believe in this love that is greater than any of your problems, even if they are great and difficult to solve.
Believe in the better life He has prepared for you!
Believe in this love!
Believe in every moment of this day, as if they were miracles performed just for you, because you are, with all certainty, one of God's miracles here on earth.
